In late 2019 the Sandwich Fire Fighters came to the museum to see the 1869 horse-drawn Sandwich fire appliance which the museum cares for on behalf of Sandwich Town Council. The modern firefighters posed for photographs in the same positions adopted by the firemen of the 19th Century when they had their pictures taken with the machine.
